Roof Racks on P5

heY hey... since i just got my p5 the other day..i was thinkin if i should take my roof rack off or not.

I looked at ALOt of pictures with and without roofracks..and i came to a conclusion... P5's with tints usually look better with the roofrack and the p5's that arent tinted looks better without

WHy? i gUess cause it gives it a much cleaner look..but with the tinted windows..its pretty dark so the roof rack gives it a more sporty loOk n its hardly noticable.

aNY opinions/comments?

Can ya people post ur pics up wtih or without roof racks?

I am undecided as well. I like the look of the rack, and like the quietness without the rack. The car definately looks different without the rack and I think I like it better with it on.

My car is a completely stock classic red 2002.5

Hey guys...

I took the roof rack off of my car about 3 weeks ago, and have decided I like it a lot more without it on then with. I liked the way that it looked with it on, but with my car being silver and my windows being tinted, it looks sleeker and sportier, but like some people say...to each their own. I don't have any recent pics yet, but I will have some soon and post them on the forum.

hey hey! i got a silver p5 too

windows not yet tinted..so i think it would look better without the roofrack since it gives it a much cleaner look

however..in your case, if ur windows are tinted..i generally find that tinted windows with roof rack looks much more sportier since its already darkish already.

submit pictures of the same angle with and without roof racks asap
thanks

Sorry, that's the closest I got. It's close enough to let you see I think.

I had the rack off all day today and I just didn't like it. Put it back on this evening. Without the rack is just looks like something is "missing" up top for some reason...almost like the car was bottom heavy.

I like the rack on. I took mine off for about an hour one day and put it right back on. Noise doesn't bother me that much and the looks definitely suffer I think wihout the rack.

i personally like the roof rack, my car is black so it blends in well with all the other exterior hardware. i think it adds a little "versility" or "rugged" look to the car. hell if i didn't have it, i couldn't have done this!

cheers

On my monitor that's pretty much how it looks. The color is called "Classic Red", is code A3E and is the same color as the Miatas. It's actually the same color as all the Miata reds have been in the US except it has clearcoat...the 90-97 Miatas didn't have clearcoat.

I like the looks WITH the racks, but the reduction in wind noise is so significant, that I leave them off.

When you have a moonroof, the wind noise from the racks is almost intolerable on the highway. Taking them off made it feel like a whole different car.

Thus - my racks sit under my bed, awaiting a call to duty if I need them for anything.

I have a red P5 and I personally like the look better with the roof rack....as someone else said....makes it more sporty....rather than just a wagon......
It does get a bit noisy with the moonroof open etc.....and I'm sure it'd be less noisy w/out the rack(at least to a certain extent)....but I prefer to just turn up the radio to drown out the wind noise =)
As some of the ladies on her may be able to relate to.....sometimes one has to suffer a lil to look good......guess the same goes w/my P5....gotta suffer a lil through the noise....to maintain that look of the roofrack =)
As said before though.....to each his own........as you can see....some like it....some don't.
