Heater core

Does anyone know a guide online for replacing the heater core in a protege 5? Or at least an idea of whats involved. I have to pull the dash out, i figure.

I used to know a guy who was a Mazda technician and he said he loved doing dashes on Proteges because the labour times were really good and he could get them done in under a couple of hours. For some reason I can't get that PDF file to work so can't say myself.

Of course, he was doing these on a regular basis so knew exactly what he was doing.

Could you ping him for some tips? Anything would help.

Thanks!

Sorry, but I haven't spoken to him since his cousin got my Ex-GF pregnant and I can't see me contacting him any time soon.

Way off topic here, but let me get this straight...you won't talk to someone because of something his COUSIN did to your EX? Sorry, but that's kind of stupid. And if she is your ex, why do you care?

Well, she wasn't my Ex at the time she got pregnant and since then I've lost all contact with the whole family. I said I knew the guy, not that I was friends with him. If I wanted to get in contact with him, I'd have to go through my ex and that's not going to happen.

Anyway, back to the heater core.

Sorry Mister Burns, I was out of line and it's really none of my business.

KevinsProtege5, why are you removing the heater core? If it's because it's leaking, how many miles do you have on your car? I have replaced a few of those on other kinds of cars, but I've nevere had to pull the entire dash. It looks like a real bitch on the 3rd gen Protege's.
