Question I'm a newbie-where's the oil filter???

I recently purchased an '02 Black Mica Protege, and it is sweet. Not quite as sweet as my '93 RX-7, but it keeps up the Mazda tradition quite well! Here's the question-where the !!@#$&^% did they hide the oil filter?

TIA,

jim

under the engine toward the firewall

you need to climb under to get to it.

its mounted up above the intermediate shaft onto the side of the block. Its tiny, like a tuna can almost, so feel around if you have poor lighting under the car...This was all just in case you still had trouble finding it...
