Stock NGK or Denso. Don't waste your money on iridium or platinum nonsense.

Make that two votes...although I just hit 60k and went two places on Sunday for replacements and neither place had 'em!

You know what is the best plug? A fresh set of quality plugs every 25K miles.

I have tried different things in the Protege 5, including the extended reach, and IMHO just have fresh plugs in the proper heat range (I use a 6 NGK) and you will be fine. You won't notice much if any difference by using gimic plugs or extended reach, etc. What you are feeling after installing those is the feel of fresh plugs. Period.

So how does the heat range work on plugs? Does it go like on a scale from 0-10? And is there a "non" extended reach of those 5f-11's?

What do you guys think of the Bosch Platinum +2 plugs? I have those in there now and maybe thats whats causing my engine knock...
