99 1.6 cai trouble!

my 99 1.6 acted real bad after i put the cai on,the motor would just cut out alot.i went to carfax and it told me my car had a recall,went to dealer and they said i had too many miles for them to fix under the recall,has anyone heard of this?if so is it hard to do myself?thanks!

post a pic of your cai setup....more than likely your maf isnt sealing against the pipe....

ive since changed it to short ram and it works fine,i thought the motor just couldnt pull the air that far,ever heard of that before?

if your not throwing a CEL its a seal around the MAF issue, get a tube for a bike tire, cut it to fit around the maf and put it there like a gasket kinda thing, everything should be fine ...

It might also be your MAF being dirty and need cleaing, if not its the seal and the bike tube gasket will fix it.
