No, you need it for the engine to run. If you switched to a high-end ecu like haltec you could use map sensors, but you're car won't run without your maf.

Braden had a CAI on the turboge when it was still NA. I dunno if it's custom fab or what... MAF still in place...

There's a pic on this page:

thanks for the replies yo......but

HOW DID YOU MOUNT THE CONE ONTO THE FLOW METER LIKE THAT...IT HAS A SQUARE OPENING....

Yeah , i ment a cold air intake....but i'm just trying to throw the cone filter on now...

i'm making a custom cai..but it will take me a while to get the supplies i need...i'm making it with a short civic intake tube or a weapon r.....because both can fit well with little mod....

thanx

here's my take on the intake

all custom (more stuff on my site, a link is below in my sig)

and here's what you can't see down in the fender

Don't be fooled by the $9.99 crap on ebay for the adapters, they look like sheet and usually don't fit. You need a good seal and a cheap ***, made in 10 mins POS adapter, is not going to do that. JMHO

Oh, not to sound like a dick dude, but how the hell did you expect the ECU to know how much air is coming into the engine? There has to be an air:fuel ratio and if the ECU "see's" no air....then it doesn't provide the fuel either, even though there is obviously air going to the engine via the intake, the ECU has no idea since the air sensor is gone.... that make sense to you?

yeah it makes plenty of sense........

oh and whats up with all those ****** seals on your intake tube...

did you cut a peice of pipe to make it fit....why don't you give me some tips then so i can do this project on my own instead of spending money for an EIP TUNNING intake tube...

thanks

well for starters, if you have been looking at the EIP intake, and it comes in peices, then you should be familiar with the extra ******* couplings, of which on mine, there is only one.

Yes, i cut a U bend pipe from JC Whitney to fit. You didn't ask for tips on buidling an intake, but how to bypass the VAF, but i did direct you to my website for tips...you did go there, didn't you?

If not then here are the 2 pages i have for my intake.

Hey Darryl. Are you sure you're not Jesse? Did you just quit smoking and give up caffeine? You're being awfully harsh with this idjut. Or is there something between you two the rest of us don't know about?
